SOCIAL EMOTIONAL LEARNING (SEL)

SEL: The Indoctrination Delivery System - Julie Quist

Social Emotional Learning (SEL): The Indoctrination Behind the Mask
At Child Protection League Education (CPL Ed), we expose threats to children's well-being, and Social Emotional Learning (SEL) is one of the most insidious. SEL is marketed as a program to develop emotional skills, build relationships, and manage stress, but in reality, it reshapes school culture to embed ideological, cultural, and spiritual manipulation. SEL uses "trauma-informed" practices to psychologically condition children into adopting specific mindsets that align with agendas like equity, social justice, and non-traditional beliefs, all while overriding parental authority and traditional values.
The True Nature of SEL
SEL revolves around five core competencies promoted by organizations like CASEL (Collaborative for Academic, Social and Emotional Learning):
-
Self-awareness
-
Self-management
-
Social awareness
-
Relationship skills
-
Responsible decision-making

However, SEL goes far beyond emotional support. It grants schools control over the "whole child," shifting education from academics to transforming cultural values, norms, and worldviews. SEL integrates directly with Comprehensive Sex Education (CSE), using sexuality lessons to advance equity goals and alter children's understanding of identity and relationships. It also embeds Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) principles, imposing narratives of oppression and social justice that mirror Critical Race Theory (CRT). Mindfulness, a core SEL component, is rooted in Buddhist philosophy and Hindu yogic practices, promoting "awareness, tranquility, and insight" through meditation, yoga, and sensory rituals that are inherently spiritual and religious.

These elements have no secular foundation and function as Transformative Mindfulness Education, teaching religion disguised as mental health tools. Programs like the Miss Kendra (formerly ALIVE) initiative layer on trauma-focused content that exposes children to manipulative practices without parental knowledge or consent.

How SEL Harms Children
SEL inflicts real damage on children's minds, spirits, and families:
-
Psychological Manipulation: SEL psychologically manipulates participants into desired mindsets, causing confusion, cognitive dissonance, and insecurity by forcing children to adopt ideologies that conflict with their family's values.
-
Spiritual Indoctrination: By introducing Eastern religious practices like Zen meditation and yoga, SEL proselytizes vulnerable children, leading them toward faith choices that differ from their parents' religion and exposing them to rituals that Christians are commanded to avoid.
-
Erosion of Parental Rights: Schools implement SEL without parental consent, usurping families' authority to direct their children's moral, spiritual, and religious upbringing, which leads to division and loss of trust.
-
Cultural and Ideological Conditioning: SEL serves as a gateway to accepting Islam, LGBT ideologies, and Cultural Marxist concepts, immersing children in oppression narratives that instill shame, guilt, and activism over personal responsibility.
-
Academic and Emotional Neglect: By prioritizing systemic transformation and equity over core learning, SEL diverts time from academics, ignores real emotional needs (like stable family structures), and fosters dependency on school-led interventions.
-
Long-Term Societal Decay: SEL contributes to broader harms, including deepened divisions, weakened family bonds, and a generation programmed for conformity rather than critical thinking, ultimately threatening societal stability and freedom.

SEL in Action: Evidence from Schools
SEL infiltrates K-12 education through programs like CASEL, designed for kindergarten through 5th grade. In Minnesota districts, counselors dedicate entire class periods to mindfulness exercises, sensory activities (involving touch, sight, hearing, and smell), and videos showing NBA teams performing Zen meditation or yoga—without notifying parents or assigning related work. These sessions include actual footage of Buddhist rituals, such as Kobe Bryant meditating with incense, directly linking to non-Christian spirituality.

SEL ties into technology for personalized instruction, advancing its ideological goals. "Safe and Supportive Schools" policies act as entry points for SEL expansion, while funding from major foundations pushes equity frameworks that connect SEL to social change agendas.
SEL's Ties to Other Threats
SEL is the delivery system for interconnected dangers:
-
It embeds CRT and DEI through equity and social awareness, addressing "racial and class oppression" and promoting activism.
-
It aligns with CSE to shift norms on gender, sexuality, and identity.
-
It introduces diverse belief systems, including New Age Enlightenment, Buddhism, Hinduism, and progressive ideologies, turning schools into indoctrination centers.

Take Action to Stop SEL
Parents must act to protect their children:
-
Scrutinize school curricula and policies for SEL indicators like "mindfulness," "trauma-informed," or CASEL references.
-
Attend school board meetings and demand transparency on implementation.
-
Submit FOIA requests to uncover programs and materials.
-
Push for the removal of non-academic, religiously oriented elements like mindfulness and the Miss Kendra program.
-
Advocate for education focused on academics, family values, and parental involvement.

At CPL Ed, we stand for truth, character, and freedom. Children thrive when families guide their moral and spiritual growth, not when schools impose manipulative agendas. Join us in exposing and opposing SEL to safeguard the next generation.
